St. John Eco-Tourism Camp - Land for Sale

A popular and affordable camp for environmentalists and earth friendly vacationers, the 13.8 acre Maho Bay Camp site is now for sale. The owner of the camp maintains a lease until 2012, however the property is currently on the market with an asking price of $32 million. The land can be used for either commercial or residential development.

St. Thomas Pirate Festival

The first ever St. Thomas Pirate Festival is scheduled for Oct 31 - Nov 3, 2008.

The family oriented festival will highlight the history of Pirates in St. Thomas with music, treasure hunts, children's games, beach parties, and a re-enactment of a Pirate capture at Fort Christian.  For more info, go here

Antigua/Barbuda consider Ferry Service to Montserrat

Island Tourism reps met with Cruise companies to discuss ways to improve the visitor experience for cruise passengers. One suggestion by tourism officials included offering ferry service between Antigua and Barbuda as well as to Montserrat. More discussions between tourism reps and the cruise lines will continue next week at the Sea Trade Cruise Convention held next week, March 10th - 14th in Miami.

Equinox sets sail November 5, 2009

Celebrity Schedules the newest of the Solstice Class ship for a November 5, 2009, transatlantic voyage to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Equinox (117,000-ton, 2,850-passengers) will sail a series of alternating 11-and 10-night “Ultimate Caribbean” voyages after she arrives at Port Everglades.

 

Crystal Cruises offers Newspaper Direct service

Crystal Cruises is making it easier for its global guests to stay in touch, whether cruising off the coast of Salalah or Sorrento. The luxury line is introducing "Newspaper Direct," a same-day service enabling guests to receive a choice of more than 370 full-format newspapers from 65 countries. Effective immediately with the World Cruise on Crystal Serenity and later in the year on Crystal Symphony, the papers are ordered on board and delivered directly to one's room.

Newspaper Direct uses satellite communications to create full-format, same-day editions of an extensive menu of worldwide newspapers. 74 U.S. editions and more than 40 from the U.K. Many papers are offered daily, while some are offered only on selected days. Papers are available for $6.50 each, with a full list of selections and order forms in every stateroom.
