Enhancements

January 7, 2008
NCL Corporation ("NCL"), parent company of Norwegian Cruise Line and NCL America, announced today the closing of a $1 billion cash equity investment by private equity group Apollo Management, LP ("Apollo") in NCL.

The infusion strengthens NCL's balance sheet and will enable the company to make significant investments in a number of key areas, in addition to funding continued expansion of what is already the youngest fleet in the industry. The company recently announced it will take its signature Freestyle Cruising to the next level with the introduction of Freestyle 2.0, a major enhancement to its on-board product fleet wide, that will further improve the guest experience, including an increased investment in food of $50 million over the next two years, and an upgrading of stateroom bedding and amenities across the fleet. NCL's next large step forward will be the introduction of the "F3" concept ships in 2010, under construction now in France at a cost of over $1.1 billion per ship.

General Information/History

A Message from Colin Veitch
CEO of NCL Corporation

At NCL, our purpose is very clear: challenge traditional cruise conventions so that we can deliver the most liberating experience at sea for our guests. I'm proud of the fact that our innovative onboard experience offers vacationers freedom from the stress and demands of everyday life and freedom to enjoy a relaxed, resort style experience on their own terms.

We've built NCL with innovation as our guiding principle. It's evident in everything we've done over our 41-year history. Here are just a few examples of NCL firsts:

The First Caribbean cruise

The First private island - Great Stirrup Cay

The First alternative restaurant

The First Internet café at sea

The First to offer children's programs

The First "Dive-In" snorkeling program offering equipment, instruction and snorkeling excursions to the best snorkeling sights around the world

The First major U.S. cruise line to offer passengers the true freedom delivered by Freestyle Cruising

The First to offer cell phone and WiFi service fleetwide

The First bowling alley at sea

All of these innovations have led us to where we are today:

With our signature Freestyle Cruising, we turn traditional cruising on its head by having no fixed dining times, no formal dress codes, relaxed disembarkation, up to 10 different restaurants and even more lounges, bars, theatres and other entertainment and activity options. All nine new NCL and NCL America ships introduced since 2001 have been designed or purpose built for Freestyle Cruising, offering the flexibility and variety that our guests want;

NCL today has the youngest fleet in the industry, providing guests the opportunity to enjoy the flexibility of Freestyle Cruising on the newest, most contemporary ships at sea, and has recently added its latest new ship, the 2,400 passenger Norwegian Gem. We've also announced plans to build two new third generation Freestyle Cruising ships that will take us to a whole new level when they are introduced starting in 2010. Check out our ships;

With Pride of America dedicated to year-round Hawaii inter-island cruising, we are the only cruise line that offers guests the opportunity to visit all four of Hawaii's main islands on one seven-day cruise;

Finally, NCL ships are deployed in all major cruise destinations, including Alaska, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, Mediterranean, Mexican Rivera and New England. We sail from a variety of homeland cruising ports, including New York, Boston, Charleston, Honolulu, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Vancouver.
